The sun's out and the temperature is warming up which means this is the perfect opportunity to take a day trip to the Wooden Tulip Festival. With 40 acres of stunningly beautiful tulips and Mt. Hood in the background you'll find yourself turning into a pro photographer. So get out their and make some memories.

Here are 20 ideas for how to spend your day:

  1. Get there early and ride a hot air balloon (take some epic pictures)
  1. Have lunch at Mt. Angel Sausage Company or Loco Ono BBQ
  1. If you need a caffeine boost check out Cocos Coffee
  1.  Enjoy a glass of wine at their vineyard tasting room
  1. Not into wine? They also have local beer and cider
  1. Walk through the rows of tulips (read all the different names)
  1. Buy yourself some tulips to bring home at the Tulip Market
  1. Take a break from the crowd and have a picnic at their Wooden Shoe Gardens
  1. Stroll to the windmill and you’ll find a Field Greenhouse Tent
  1. Watch a Wooden Shoe Maker demonstration
  1. Check out the Crafter marketplace
  1. Take a picture with Tulip the cow
  1. Shoot some paintballs and make a masterpiece
  1. Sign up in advance for a Wine Wagon Farm Tour
  1. Take a tram or hay wagon ride
  1. Let the kids loose at the Children's Play Area
  1. Take a 6 min ride on the Cow train for $3
  1. Or enjoy a longer ride on the Field train for $5
  1. For a small charge your kids can also play in the Jump Tents, Bungee Jumper, Pony Rides, Rock Wall, & Zip Line!
  1. Bring a book and enjoy a peaceful afternoon reading by the tulip field.
