Thirsty Thursday Guide to Summer-Worthy Drinks: Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade

Welcome to our "Thirsty Thursday Guide to Summer-Worthy Drinks," where we are going to bring you a new drink to try weekly.
This week we bring you a drink that will help keep you cool during the heatwaves pounding several areas of the country: Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade!

For Blackberry Syrup :
1 cup sugar
1 cup blackberries
½ cup water
For the Cocktail :
1 shot whiskey
1 cup lemon juice
½ cup blackberry syrup
tonic water to taste
Step 1. In a pan, bring all blackberry syrup ingredients to a low temp. Simmer and continue to stir.
Step 2. While the syrup is simmering, add the lemon juice to a cup of ice.
Step 3. Add a whiskey of your choice.
Step 4. Once finished, add the blackberry syrup (you may strain the mixture if you don't want the seeds, or you can pour it all into the cup).
Step 5. Top with tonic water to taste.
