One of my favorite parts of getting ready for the day is checking my horoscope. There are some great literary influenced horoscopes, like @astropoets on Twitter and Electric Literature’s ‘author horoscopes’.

Whether you believe in them or not, I think horoscopes can present a daily moment for reflection about yourself: who you are, what you want, and where you’re going. And what you should read!

To help you out, we’ve put together your Overcup Book Horoscope! Find your sign element below and read what the stars have decided.

Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Tolly is a perfect read for these adventurous elements. This beautifully illustrated story follows Tolly, a brave raccoon who must go on a journey to protect our dreams. Fire elements love a good quest story, and this one is full of fun, bravery, and whimsy.

Another great fit for fire signs are The Tall Trees series. These three books feature a glimpse of the lives and work of artists based in Portland, Paris, and Tokyo. Always desiring travel and adventure, fire signs will love journeying through the cities and studios in these pages.

Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Grounded, practical earth signs are natural architects. Buckminster Fuller: Poet of Geometry is a fascinating look at an iconic architect and his innovative work. Full of gorgeous illustrations and interesting facts, this book will leave you feeling both grounded and inspired.

Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Intellectual air types are full of curiosity and energy! A fact-filled book like The Field Guide to Drinking in America is packed full of enough facts and illustrated info to fulfill their appetite for fun trivia. The Field Guide presents an overview of the unique laws and cultural history surrounding alcohol in every state. Both informative and fun, chattery air signs will love using the facts found in The Field Guide to pepper their conversations.

Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Intuitive water signs need a read that has heart. Ice Cream Work is a beautiful and surreal story by the artist Naoshi using Sunae, a type of artwork made with colored sand. Ice Cream Work follows Ice Cream Man as he journeys through a surreal landscape to go to work and hang out with his friends. Full of whimsy, wonder, and beauty, it’s easy to imagine air signs poring over these pages.
