  1. The Lovecraft Bar

Location: Portland, Oregon

If you are a fan of H.P Lovecraft, the color black, or just all things goth, then this is definitely the bar for you. Lovecraft opened in 2011 and since then has gained a lot of attention for its horror and goth theme and décor. This place even comes completed with a dress code; no sweatpants or pink tees are allowed here. They are also known for being a good dance spot and a location for Drag nights and events. Don’t be afraid to let your inner goth out here.

  1. Williams & Graham

Location: Denver, Colorado

Book lovers and drink lovers unite! This hideaway bar (its door is a trick bookcase) opened in 2011 and is well-known for its 1920’s speakeasy feel, as well at its top-notch drinks. This bar is doing so well that it was awarded Best Bar in America in 2015! If you plan to visit, make sure that you call ahead and reserve your seat. This place fills up fast!

  1. Café Mox

Location: Seattle, Washington

If you like any kind of tabletop or RPG games, you need to come here. Café Mox is attached to a card shop known as the Card Kingdom. The establishment opened its Seattle location in 2011 and since then has been home to numerous gaming get-togethers. The Café is loaded with great food and multiple beers on tap. They even serve mead! So if you’re ever in the mood to play some Magic the Gathering and drink the night away, this place is your new best friend.

  1. Founding Fathers Pub

Location: Buffalo, New York

Since this is a list of the coolest bars to visit in America, we cannot leave out the bar which embodies American pride. The Founding Fathers Pub, opened in 1986, is covered head to toe in American presidential memorabilia, as well as many other representations of the American dream. You can bet that this place is filled to the brim when elections and debates come around, but even during non-election times, there are still many discussions to be had. If you ever feel like celebrating your American pride, or just want to share some views with other patrons while downing a Jack and Coke, then this place is for you.

  1. Beetle House NYC

Location: New York, New York.

Last but not least, we have the Beetle House NYC. The Beetle House opened in 2016 and has become a sensation with Tim Burton fans across the states. This bar has Tim Burton themed everything, plus a few other gothic additions on the side. Here, you will find waiters and waitresses dressed up as Tim Burton characters, as well as plenty of Burton movie memorabilia and themed drinks/food. If you love anything Halloween you need to come here!
