Welcome back to "The Boozy Book-Lovers Favorite Reads and Drinks," where we pair DIY drinks with our favorite Overcup Press titles.
This week we bring you a drink that is sure to keep you cool and happy as summer temperatures rise, or remind you of lazy days on a front-porch swing: a Bourbon Peach Sweet Tea. This bright orange, peachy cocktail pairs perfectly with another bright orange Overcup favorite, Tilikum Crossing by Donald McDonald and Ira Nadel.
But it’s not just the color that makes this book and drinks pairing a match made in heaven. The warmth of the bourbon together with the effervescence of the Aperol grounds the sweetness of the peach preserves, reminding us of the way the bridges of Portland ground our beautiful city. With more than ninety full-color illustrations depicting the history of Portland’s bridges, Tilikum Crossing is a perfect book to flip through while you relax with a sweet drink on a warm summer evening.
