Welcome back to "The Boozy Book-Lovers Favorite Reads and Drinks," where we pair DIY drinks with our favorite Overcup Press titles.
This week, we're bringing you a cocktail that combines two classic flavors: lavender and lemon. Haven't tried a lavender-infused cocktail before? We’re here to fix that! Sip on this delicious Vodka Lavender Lemonade while you pick up its perfect book pairing: Volcanoes, Palm Trees, and Privilege by Liz Prato.
During the dog days of summer, nothing is quite as refreshing as a cool glass of lemonade–with a splash of vodka. This drink takes the classic one step further with a sweet, floral hint of lavender. In a similar way, Liz Prato writes about the beautiful state of Hawai‘i—what many Americans might consider the perfect summer holiday destination—and adds her own twist: a much-needed examination of how white colonization has negatively affected the beautiful land and the people who call it home. Enjoy a fresh twist on a classic while you read a fresh and important perspective on Hawai‘i’s past, present, and future.
